Matthew Miville Received today and I was giddy opening the 'idol.' The handmade packaging is awesome! I love the attention to detail and originality given to this project! The tunes are great too! Favorite track: hoards of vanished souls.

  • Cassette + Digital Album

Limited edition of 40 cassettes. Art designed by Abay Zhumagulov.

The art takes its origin from balbals - ancient stone idols used in shamanic rituals and considered protectors of the land. The folded booklet inside continues with the idea of rhythm as a message and features a 6-frame analog animation that has a quality of secret shamanic glyphs. To see the animation you will need to have a separate piece of art printed on a transparency paper. Email jacktonerecords@gmail.com for the file.

    From Bleep.com
"The production laid bare we feel is destined for big things and Jacktone and kit n c.l.a.w.s have secured one of the finest small run releases of the year so far, well worth a look in."

    From aQuarius Records
"a deeply satisfying middle ground between modern techno impulses and ambient soundtrack narratives."

    From SF Weekly
"an uncompromisingly weird record that doesn't fit in, and it's proud of that."

  • Limited Edition Handmade Packaging
    Cassette + Digital Album

Limited edition of 10, handmade packaging, designed by Abay Zhumagulov.

"Sound and rhythm - the arsenal of every shaman - have long been channels to achieve experience beyond a normal physical level. These primeval forces that this record employs to a great effect, directed me to look into mystical shamanic traditions and petroglyphs of Central Asia.

The packaging takes its origin from balbals - ancient stone idols used in shamanic rituals and considered protectors of the land. The package or "idol" is laser cut and hand-assembled and encases a cassette with a small booklet. Each idol is unique. To get to the content, the idol needs to be destroyed.

The folded booklet inside continues with the idea of rhythm as a message and features a 6- frame analog animation that has a quality of secret shamanic glyphs."
